A Way to Understand the Bible
The first time I heard and received the gospel about Jesus Christ was in my third grade year of elementary school. I got baptized when I was in junior high and started meeting with the local church in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. At that time, some Christian sisters nourished and cherished me in Christ after my baptism. We read the Bible together on my school campus during my lunch break. Everyday we gathered together to read the Bible, memorize one or two verses, sing a hymn for about ten minutes and then have lunch. It was very enjoyable, and I felt peace, joy, light, and liberty within me.
The first book I read in the Bible was Romans. Every morning I had a morning meeting at 6:00 a.m. I got up very early to join this time and enjoy the book of Romans before I went to school. One day, I prayed to the Lord, “Lord, the book of Romans is a book of law. It is so deep and mysterious. Thank you I can enjoy it and be enlightened by Your Word. Thank You Lord for Your mercy, and praise You that You are my wisdom!”
I grew up in a Buddhist family and did not know anything about the Bible until I came to the church meetings. Eventually, I found out all the messages we read and studied were written by Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. All the messages were so clear, conveying and explaining the intrinsic meaning of the Bible. This is the reason why I could understand the Bible and enjoy it so much with all the believers in the local church meetings.
Through Watchman Nee and Witness Lee's ministry, I have a way to understand the Bible in a thorough and systematic way and enjoy and apply it to my life. I especially treasure the Recovery Version Bible. The more I read it, the more the Word of God becomes real to me.
